Bunionectomy #2 - Left foot

I've had bunions on both feet as long as I can remember.  My Grandma Dean gave them to me, genetically.  Thanks Gma!  Luckily they didn't start bothering me until I was almost in my 30's.  I had my right foot corrected back in 1999 but my left foot wasn't bothering me then.  It started to several years ago.  I had surgery scheduled in 2006 but then we moved to AZ.  After another 6 years I decided it was time so I called on Dr Brian Allen who was recommended by several friends.

He gave me this boot which would be my
fashion for the near future

My foot was so numb as I left the hospital, I thought this would be so easy!
Then the numbness wore off...

Make sure you get the right foot!

I was so shocked but happy that he didn't touch my pretty nails!
If my foot was to be stuck in a boot, I wanted pretty nails
Thanks Doc!

Scott takes care of me AND got me this great bouquet

I didn't have crutches the first day (my friend Crystal came to my rescue the next day)
so this is how I pathetically got to the bathroom

crutches wouldn't help with stairs
this was me for about 4-5 days

Toby could tell that I was hurt
He climbed into my lap and wouldn't leave

Found things to do while stuck on the couch

When Crystal brought over the crutches
she brought her daughter Lily with her
I taught Lily swim lessons - she made me this "get well" picture

Carson used his birthday RC car to deliver his own "get well" notes

First look at my foot one week after surgery

We left for Missouri 3 weeks later and I only had to pack shoes for my right foot

I used my boot to it's full capacity

Looking good - healing well!

After 6 weeks I graduated to this shoe

I'm so glad I did it
Now to prepare to do the right one...
