Funny Friends

I have a friend.  His name is John.  We met in the Cannon Center in Helaman Halls at BYU in 1990.  I'm told the Cannon Center is gone now.  Sad.  John was one of my silliest friends.  He ALWAYS made me laugh.
So years later, I'm watching a movie.  It's a "Mormon Movie" called The Home Teachers and suddenly I see a familiar face!  There's John E Moyer acting in a movie!!  I check the movie box only to find out that not only is he an actor but writer and director as well!  Nice John!  He's also a stand up comedian and performs all over the country!
Lucky for me, he came to Arizona and last night Scott and I went to watch him be funny.  He was great!  I'm proud of my old silly friend!  I can honestly say, "I knew him when..."
He came to town with another popular "Mormon actor" Kirby Heyborne.  John did his comedy routine and Kirby, who is now a singer/songwriter too, sang and did comedy between his songs.  BOTH were hilarious!
It was fun to see my friend again after almost 19 years.

Here is a shot of John and I with our friend Kepi back in the day

Here is John and I last night

See?  Silly Friend!

Still...just as silly!
I was a lucky recipient of a personally autographed DVD of his movie Mobsters and Mormons of which he was the writer AND director.

Kirby was VERY popular with the younger crowd.  He was so great to chat with each one and take many, many, many pictures with them.  He would check to make sure everyone had their eyes open and take more just to make sure!

During his act, he made a joke about learning to wash his hands.  I thought it was funny so I clapped.  I was the ONLY one who clapped so he looked in my direction and made more jokes about me being a germ-a-phobe and using Purell etc.
It was fun to be a heckler
After the show I had to meet him and show him I wasn't afraid to shake his hand because I knew he washed them now.  We had a great laugh!

Truly a nice guy!

I hope they come to town again soon!!
I'll invite y'all to come with me!

How fun to see him again. I love silly friends. Darren and I really wanted to go to that but babysitting group was the night before. Looks like we missed a great time.
