Fun at G-ma's in Moberly, MO

We haven't traveled for Christmas since the year 2000. I hated trying to make sure Christmas happened just right and hoping that true believers stayed that way. It's too much work! This year with Scott on sabbatical (Intel's 8 week paid vacation every 7 years) and the kids out of school for 2.5 weeks...it was time to try again. So off to Missouri we went!
It takes us 3 days to drive there because we are wimpy drivers. Scott and I both get tired at night so we like to only do daytime driving. Plus, this being the winter time and driving to the midwest made us want to take it easy. So easy we ended up taking 4 days to get to MO this time because of weather in Flagstaff. Normally our route consists of stops in Albuquerque, Oklahoma City and then on to G-ma's.
We LOVE G-ma's house!! Also known as "Rancho Relax-o". A fun place full of fun people where all we do is have fun!

This is Kate or Katydid or Kate-Kate-Bo-Bate. My kids could not get enough of her sweet, smiley face!

We brought our meager collection of warm things but G-ma had to find some things for us to borrow because we live in Arizona now...no need to BUY more warm stuff

We brought Toby with us and clearly he had some good times. However, we think that since he was tied up the entire time because people in the midwest don't have fences around their yards, he might have more fun staying at home with his friend Blossom next trip.

Has my absence made your heart grow fonder?

Just wondering... I'm back I'm behind I'm intimidated There is no way that I can "catch up" with this blog.  It's a daunting task.  It's one reason I'm so far behind!  I want to post but then I see the enormous amount of time and posts that have past since my last and I walk away. So...I will sum up.   Sorry...wordy and no pictures. After our fun trip to Moberly, MO, we joined Jen, her kids and Gma J in a caravan to SLC for the Plewe Family Reunion.  We were so excited to be traveling with family making travel life more fun with cousins!  We did have fun but the hellish travel trends continued to plague us!  At one stop Gma locked her keys in the car...we waited for a LONG time till AAA could come and break us in.  This put us into our first stop pretty late but nothing unmanageable.  However, when we got to our hotel in Cheyenne, WY the hotel we had a reservation at (and called to confirm just a couple hours before) had given our ...
