Blossom comes to visit...and eventually stays!

**Disclaimer**
I did not post this to make you feel bad Trish. Please don't, we feel bad enough. The story just had to be told!

We absolutely LOVE this dog.
When Trish asked us to dogsit Blossom, we jumped at the chance to play with our friend. I got to know Blossom quite well during the 6 weeks we invaded her territory with swimming lessons. She would wander around the pool as my lifeguard, just waiting for someone to fall in so she could rescue them! She is such a good and friendly dog. We have first dibbs on any puppies she may ever have.

We were so excited to have her over for a weekend. She was fun to wrestle with and the kids loved the little bell she wears on her collar. We never wondered where she was in the house.

Until she went outside...

Blossom is a MASTER escape artist. We knew our back gate would be easy for her to just walk right under so we tried to plan ahead and shoved a massive tarp under. That has worked for other dogs we've taken in. Oh, but not Blossom! She pulled and scratched until she squeezed her way out. We searched for her (kids on bikes, and me in my car) for about a 1/2 hour and found her across the street under a car. WHEW! So then we go into the back yard and added my old swing to the mix...Blossom proof, right? Heck no! She pulled and scratched her way through that barricade as well. This time she had us searching for over an hour! I made Scott get out of bed early to help. At that point I was frantic and decided to call Trish. With MY tail between my legs, I told her Blossom was missing. She immediately tells me that her neighbor JUST texted her and Blossom is safe at her house. WHEW, again!!! We found out she had made it to Chandler Heights...a very busy road. YIKES!! This time we added more junk from our back yard to the mix. Metal bars, trash cans and even an old bike!

It didn't work...She got out again!

This time, however, she only made it to the end of our street. A neighbor had picked her up right when Chase was riding by on his bike. She had only been gone 15 minutes. WHEW!! This time we added some old roller blades to the teeny, tiny corner where she had made her breaks.

Finally!! She's safe with the Jorgensen's!!

Somehow I only got pics of Mitch playing with her...but all my kids had loads of fun with her. She's such a gentle dog!

Such fun!

She was so cute! They would wrestle and wrestle and suddenly she would just rest her head on Mitch's lap. Like she was saying, "you need to rest, my child"

Here is the final barricade. Kinda glad we had all that junk in our icky backyard.

I am rolling! That cracks me up. I'm glad she could supply your family with some good old fashioned ingenuity, exercise, and sleuthing! She really is a special dog, huh?

Thanks again for taking her in. I'll understand if next time you panic a little when I ask...
