G-ma is 70 (she has been since February)
We finally were able to get together to celebrate G-ma's 70th birthday. Last year G-pa turned 70 and all of his adult children met up in Salt Lake City to surprise him. We felt bad that we made such a big deal for G-pa and G-ma's came and went with hardly a hello! So we decided to plan a day for her while we were all gathered.
Yummy carrot birthday cake
Remember I mentioned the bon fire in the previous post? Here's how we light it...each grandchild (the ones old enough) takes a roman candle, lights it and...
aims for the gasoline soaked pile of rubbish!
BonFire! I love this pic...Andrea trying to get into the frame made this cool effect
We all sit around the fire and sing songs - we try to teach each other new ones but there are several standards that have to be sung every time. Ole Ponto, White Choral Bells, Shaving Cream, Love at Home, I Am a Child of God...
Can you think of a better thing than a bon fire this big in your own back yard?
G-ma and G-pa taking in the sight of their posterity
Andrea taught us a clever and hilarious little cheer - Peel banana, peel peel banana...hahaha!
Scott got his turn to lead us in a round while Brad prepares more gas for the fire
My happy family
It started out a couple of days earlier when we all went over to Connie's to make some cement stepping stones with our hand/foot prints and decorated with colorful stones. Then the night of the dinner we met back at Connie's where G-ma got a surprise! We were all gathered, singing Happy Birthday and wearing matching shirts that Scott and Brad designed and had made in a very short time.

We gathered a bunch of old pics of G-ma and placed them on the table so she could tell us stories about them
She's one amazing woman!
We decided we didn't want to torture her with 70 candles...weren't we nice?
Hi Mitch!
