Happy 7th Birthday Rylee - April 12, 2008

My Little Rylee Jean Jelly Bean is growing up! Her teeth are falling out. She cares about what she wears. She comes out of her room often with strange colors on her eyes and lips. She sings songs I've never heard of with vibrato. She can read, write and do math I've forgotten about. She's changing so quickly into a young lady.
There are 7 things about her that haven't changed and I hope they don't. 1) Her eyes are electric blue and her hair is very blonde. 2) She had a sillyness that keeps us all laughing. 3) She helps Mom keep the testostorone levels in the house down. 4) She's great at cleaning her room and willing to clean the bathroom (even though she shares it with 3 boys!!!). 5) She's VERY artistic and loves to create (and is finally learning her boundaries). 6) She loves her Daddy. 7) She loves me...
Her love of Art goes deep...now she has a box FULL of supplies for when she gets creative cravings.
G'ma and Aunt Jenny picked out the cutest flip-flops for her.
Carson got a shovel for Easter to dig in the backyard with - he thought it would be great if Rylee had her own shovel so they can dig together.

We took Rylee and Carson to Texas Roadhouse - Rylee and Carson LOVE this place because you can crack peanuts and throw the shell on the floor. They won't eat the nuts...but love that a-crackin' and a-litterin'!

Carson got the cool "guy on a motorcycle" balloon
They had Rylee sit on this saddle while they sang to her.
Daddy's Little Girl is growing up!

I noticed you're doing swim lessons this summer . . .ME TOO!!! Once a swimmer, always a swimmer.

Your little family is adorable. Only wish we lived closer so our kids could play together . . .

Fun birthday! Looks like she had a great time, along with everyone else. I love my kids birthdays, because that means we get to celebrate too!

A Huge Sigh of Relief!

After 16 years working for Intel Corporation without fear, Scott was finally a wee bit worried when the latest round of lay-offs was announced. Sometimes they eliminate the ones who've been there longer. Sometimes they get rid of the new guys. Here in Arizona - Scott was both. He's been with Intel for 16 years but was one of the newbies at this site. This was the first time we felt nervous. Intel announced they would be eliminating about 10% from each of their sites world-wide. That meant 300-400 jobs lost here in AZ. They announced this MONTHS ago. They kept putting off the final date to let us know if we had a job or not. They kept us hanging, hoping, wishing, PRAYING, wondering... Until tonight - Scott's job is SAFE. He will keep his job. HALLELUJAH!! In an effort to avoid being jobless, homeless and faithless, Scott decided to contact his former boss (the good one, Larry) to see if there were any options back in Albuquerque, NM (or Rio Rancho which is where...

15 Years - that's right...you heard me!

2 dozen roses and a Sonic drink! What more could this girl ask for? How 'bout this? A new wedding band! (Scott wants it to be called an Anniversary band) I've always loved my original ring. Scott picked it out himself with only one suggestion from me...I like baguettes. He did a great job. As I have gotten older though, I have had a new desire. A ring that will not cause bodily injury. I can't tell you how many times I have innocently swiped my hand and a poor, unsuspecting soul (usually one of my kids) gets a scratch right up their face! Carson won't give me a fist bump because he's scared of the ring. And I only had to hint to Scott ONE time and it was quite a while ago!! I'm a simple gal. I don't wear jewelry often. It took me YEARS to get use to my wedding ring and finally not take it off every night. This new band is PERFECT! Simple yet so pretty. Thank you my dear, dear Scotty. This 15 years has been so fun! Let's do it again! Aw...what the heck!...
